It’s only called …
It’s only called Football because, when the game was created, there was no forward pass. The quarterback was only allowed to hand off to the running back or kick the ball downfield to a receiver (or run the ball himself). Hence, “Football”. It’s stupid; it should be called Tackleball, pr something.
