because people arent worthy of a cure for cancer! :D

  • peterbone says:

    The main subject of …
The main subject of the video was the other robot that hit the ball. That is a much more difficult task. Secondly, the pitching robot is throwing in a much more human way than the current pitching machines.

  • 94thts says:

    Well if anybody can …
Well if anybody can make a robot like that why dont you make one? And btw I dont give a about baseball anyway.

  • Joblow420 says:

You seem to be the …
You seem to be the one who doesn’t know anything… They don’t use compressed air dumb ass, look it up. And can this put movement on a ball like the current pitching machine and or throw a curve ball like a pitching machine or a slider??? Anyone who knows anything about industry or that has worked in that field could make something like this… Nothing impressive at all…

  • 94thts says:

    No they dont “throw …
No they dont “throw” anything. Those pitching machines that “have been around for many years” just fires the ball with some sort of compressed air. I dont think you understand the technology behind this…

    robots cant replace …
robots cant replace us,this is an amazing achievement..it can be used to for so many uses like multiple robot coordination,an extension for disable ppl, prosthetics…e possibilities are boundless so wtf is wrong with u whiners???

  • hazyeight says:

    @Darthvicious4759, …
@Darthvicious4759, you’re being shortsighted. This is just an exercise for “scientists” to create robots with better object recognitions and coordination. This is so one day you can ask a robot to pick you up an orange and it will be able to recognize the orange, and accurately manipulate the orange.

  • looni3 says:

    Why don’t you …
Why don’t you figure it out?

  • Darthvicious4759 says:

    are we ever gonna …
are we ever gonna use baseball robots… NO so why do scientist never fugure out something useful like the cure for cancer?

this is stupid they say by 2010 the robots will be everywhere so what is the use for humans!???? we will have nothing to do

  • cannonstudio says:

    Just when you …
Just when you thought baseball couldn’t get any more boring…

  • boomyjr says:

    yea but they have …
yea but they have never had them with a throwing motion… nor a hitting machine that can hit a moving ball

  • Joblow420 says:

    Big deal? They’ve …
Big deal? They’ve had Pitching machines around for years, and they throw a lot faster than that…

Mets need them more. Have you seen them lately?

  • ieatsgoats says:

    I wonder if they’ll …
I wonder if they’ll ever make cricket robots…Probably not. When you consider the amount of skill and technique to bowl or bat in cricket it’s unlikely they’ll be able to have a machine emulate it for quite some time.
